The PETRA team is thrilled to have received the ZonMw grant for the program \”Praktijkgericht onderzoek in de ggz: Stimuleren van hybride zorg in de GGZ\”.
This funding will allow us to enhance PETRA (https://www.petrapsy.nl/) with a menstrual cycle diary tool. One in three women experiences limitations due to psychiatric complaints related to their menstrual cycle. To better understand this relationship, menstrual cycle diaries are used, though these are often still completed on paper, which is inconvenient. We aim to improve this by offering the diary on smartphones. The digital menstrual diary will be customized for each client in collaboration with their therapist. Digitalization provides visualization options for the relationship between mood complaints and the menstrual cycle before, during, and after treatment. This approach creates tools for meaningful conversations between clients and therapists. A feedback report is saved, giving clients the opportunity to discuss it with significant others or other therapists. During the design phase, users are involved through focus groups. After treatment, further coordination of needs and wishes will be pursued through quantitative and qualitative evaluation research.
