Abstract
The past decades of research have seen an increase in tools to explore symptom dynamics from patient data, however their implementation in clinical practice is rather scarce. This seems odd, given that these statistical tools yield a lot of benefits in tackling many challenges found in psychotherapy (for example, the case formulation or the selection of patient-tailored treatment targets). In this presentation, we propose a new method that allows formulating a dynamical system directly from clinical theory (compared to data-driven networks), and discuss how this method facilitates the implementation of dynamical models in clinical practice.
